A Clinical Study Without Borders

TeleRehaB DSS is more than a clinical trial it is a global collaboration built on shared principles and local expertise. With clinical sites across Europe and Asia, the study demonstrates how technology-enabled rehabilitation can be both unified and adaptable.

One protocol, five countries

The TeleRehaB randomised controlled trial is being conducted in the United Kingdom, Greece, Portugal, Germany and Thailand. Each clinical site follows a common protocol, eligibility criteria and outcome measures.

This harmonised structure enables the collection of consistent, high-quality data across different populations, health systems and languages. All clinical partners have:

  • Completed clinician training (Athens, January 2025)
  • Installed and tested devices
  • Finalised local translations of recruitment and support materials
  • Launched in-clinic pilot testing to confirm safety and usability

Standardised intervention, locally Adapted

While the platform is centrally designed, each site has adjusted elements such as:

  • Language and cultural references in the mobile app
  • Recruitment materials informed by local focus groups
  • Wellness mat setup tailored to available space and flooring types

These adaptations emerged from early focus groups and the market analysis conducted during the preparatory phase. They reflect the importance of accessibility, clarity and cultural relevance in digital health deployment.

Global vision, scalable Practice

By running the trial across five countries, TeleRehaB will assess the feasibility of deploying the platform in diverse clinical and social settings. The trial is structured in four rounds  with shared devices circulated between sites for efficiency. The inclusion of Thailand brings added value, offering insight into how the intervention performs in an upper-middle-income context and broadening the platform’s future scalability.

A unified and inclusive study

TeleRehaB is not only testing a digital solution it is building a model of global cooperation. By integrating technical innovation with clinical care, and by aligning protocol with local practice, the trial exemplifies how digital rehabilitation can bridge systems, populations and geographies.

Step by step, this clinical study is laying the foundation for a more connected, inclusive and effective future for fall prevention and balance rehabilitation.
